Macrophya punctumalbum
7-8mm. A typical Macrophya with long hind legs. Black-bodied but with striking, blood-red hind femora - the only Macrophya species with this characteristic.

- white front and mid tibia
- long hind legs with red femora and black tibia
Hedgerows and well vegetated areas.
April to June.
The larvae feed on the leaves of various plants.
Seems to be widespread, but not well recorded in Britain.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
