Golden Spindles - Clavulinopsis fusiformis
A dense cluster of upright bright-yellow spindles emerging from an underground base. The spindles are unbranched and tapering at each end. The tips become brownish with age. Spindles are often compressed and grooved longitudinally. The spores are smooth and almost spherical.
Other yellow clubs in grasslands - Clavulinopsis helvola and C luteoalba
Provide a photograph of the plant in its habitat, showing growth form. We recommend that you also examine spores microscopically
