Equal-leaved Knotgrass - Polygonum depressum
Low mat-forming plant. Leaves elliptical to lanceolate, uniform. Flowers lateral, solitary or in small clusters, greenish white, or pinkish.
P aviculare, possibly P rurivagum which has occurred in VC55 in the past
Achenes with 2 convex and 1 concave side; other minor differences
Specimen or photos needs to verified by CR. Plant must have achenes.
Waste places, roadsides and pathways, open and bare places etc.
July to September.
Annual.
Fairly frequent in Britain.
In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 147 of the 617 tetrads.
In the current Checklist (Jeeves, 2011) it is listed as Alien (archaeophyte); locally frequent
