Limnophora tigrina
4-6.5mm. Grey with a distinctive pattern of black on the thorax and paired triangular black spots on the abdomen. It has four pairs of post-sutoral dorsocentrals. The halteres are yellow. The legs are all dark.
Often associated with water but adults can be found feeding on nectar on numerous flowers.
May - September
Widespread but not very common.
