Fig-leaf Skeletoniser - Choreutis nemorana
Wingspan 16 to 20mm. A dark, rich reddish brown moth, rather similar to Apple Leaf Skeletonizer (Choreutis pariana).

This is a rare species in our area and your record should be supported by a good close-up photograph. Please retain the specimen until the record is confirmed by our County Recorder.
Most likely to be encountered in parks and gardens where Fig, the larval food plant, is present.
Adult - June to October.
Larva feeds on Fig (Ficus carica) pupating in a silken cocoon under a leaf fold.
First British record was from London in 2014, and now expanding its range across southern England and East Anglia.
Rare in Leicestershire and Rutland. This species was not recorded in VC55 until 2025.
