Rhogogaster punctulata
Rhogogaster punctulata is very similar to Rhogogaster viridis, but has a pair of very small black dots at the edge of each abdominal segment.
This species has a red ID rating and unless identified by a known expert you must provide a satisfactory explanation of how it was identified for the record to be accepted.
This species is found along hedgerows and woodland rides.
It flies from May through to July
The adult is predatory, catching small insects, but the larvae feed on a variety of tree and shrub leaves.
Fairly frequent and widespread in Britain.
Fairly common in Leicestershire and Rutland.
